    All good choices.

I vote for the JLC but I would suggest to check out a Rolex Oyster Perpetual and a Cartier Santos, as well.

    Welcome to the forum!

From your list, the JLC is the only one that appeals to me, but I wouldn't take a reverso as an everyday watch. If you like IWC and chronos, I find the IWC Portuguese line much more interesting and versatile. The 3714 - or the newest 3716 with the in-house caliber and display caseback- would be my choice.

It all depends on who you are, whats your style and where you will be wearing this watch to.
Ill say JLC reverso, one of my favorites, but it doesn't fit any occasion.

Ill add few other watches that you might want to look into, that would be a great all around if its your only/daily watch:
    - Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39mm
    - Rolex Explorer I or II (the II will be used to fit your budget)
    - JLC Master Control Date
    - Omega Speedmaster Professional
    In order I have obtained
    > Seiko Chronograph SNA013P The Great Blue l Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL Rosso Corsa l Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue Monte Carlo
    Seiko 5 SNXF01K1 Silver Fox l Seiko 5 - SNKP21J1 Middle East Edition l Longines Heritage 180th Anniversary Chrono
    Omega - Speedmaster Pro Project Alaska l G-Shock - G-9000MX-8 Mudman l Seiko Prospex SRPB51J1 Samurai
    Grand Seiko SBGJ227 Peacock l G-Shock GMWB5000GD-9

I'd go with the SBGA211. It's a stunning watch and I absolutely love that dial.

If it's your 1st watch and an everyday wearer - GS.

GS will be on the bracelet and is both versatile and simple enough to work in most situations.

IWC is a nice chronograph, but readability is not the best and with leather strap and 42mm size - I'd not use it as an everyday watch, nor does it make a good 1st watch to start with (too complex)

JLC... I'm a huge fan of Reverso Duo. I think they are beautiful watches and reversing is fun. But not best as 1st watch. It's on a dressier side so has reduced versatility. And the Reverso case shape is not for every wrist. It can be great or can be super uncomfortable. I think rectangular reverso is a nice addition to a collection of existing watches, but not so nice as 1st or only watch

Another vote on the Grand Seiko for looks and the smoothest second hand in the industry short of an electric clock also I have not seen a better looking white dial to date.
