June 27-30, 2013 Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup: the charme of classic regularity among roads, mountains and passion
There are just a few days left before the start of the first edition of Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup. Great anticipation for an event that is shaping up as one of the most interesting of the season.
Cuervo y Sobrinos will offer a prestigious numbered automatic watch from the Racing Collection to every driver competing in the rally.
June 27-30, 2013: this are the unmissable dates for the enthusiasts: the start of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup, the Great Event in the CSAI calendar, organized by Scuderia Tricolore of Reggio Emilia and reserved for 60 classic cars manufactured from 1919 to 1969.
A first edition that already has people talking for the elevated competition level, with 40 time trials and a tough average speed trial on the hairpin bends of the Stelvio with three secret measurings, but also for the spectacular 540 km of roads that will cross three nations. A route rich with every kind of mountain landscape, in the heart of the most beautiful Alps among Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
The passion for beauty, elegance and luxury and great attention to details are the values shared by the organizers of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup, created from the partnership among Cuervo y Sobrinos SA, Canossa Events e Scuderia Tricolore. The crews will be welcomed and pampered at 360° with very special attentions, firstly with the creation by Cuervo y Sobrinos of a prestigious numbered automatic watch from the Racing Collection that will be given as a gift to every driver, personalized with the racing number. A jewel from the Historiador collection. Then, the five star hospitality at the Grand Hotel Bagni di Bormio Spa Resort, the nearby car park, the many gifts for the competitors and the guide to the history and the sceneries attached to the road book, which will allow you to better enjoy the touristic experience of the event.
Elegance e charme, luxury and relax interspersed with tough hairpin bends, fast curves and breathtaking landscapes, a perfect balance between the stopwatches and the ancient hot springs known since Roman times: this is the Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup 2013.
An unmissable week-end for the classic cars aficionados, but also for the enthusiasts of the “tiempo lento” and the luxury, of luxury and refinement as lifestyles, as is fond of saying Marzio Villa, sponsor of the event and president of Cuervo y Sobrinos SA, the prestigious fine-watch brand: “We are a brand famous for its Swiss handcraftsmanship and Latin American name, which evokes a history of exclusivity and cultural luxury perfectly in tune with the traditions and beauty of classic cars”.
The rally, handled by Scuderia Tricolore, will be alternated with moments of absolute relaxation among natural paradises such as the Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, the Engadine and Sankt Moritz.
E’ Luigi Orlandini, Chairman of Scuderia Tricolore, will tell us about the objectives of the 2013 edition of Cuervo Y Sobrinos Cup: “Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup is a unique event: a panoramic itinerary across the most beautiful Italian passes, with the recollection of a historical route which saw great drivers challenge themselves on the hairpin bends of the Stelvio, but mainly an occasion for relaxation and healthiness among charming mountains and evenings in a wonderful setting, to share the great passion that we all have in common! We have many applicants, in particular from Switzerland, Germany and Spain. We want to offer to the competitors my ideal kind of event: tough on the technical side, but at the same time an intense entertaining experience, capable of exciting even during the convivial moments, and with a top level hospitality. Of course, all of this is possible also thanks to the involvement of excellent partners: Cuervo y Sobrinos, Credit Suisse and Jaguar, who welcomed the idea of the rally with enthusiasm. We really have to thank them!”.
The research and the many reconnaissances resulted in a wonderful and varied route, along panoramic roads.
The beauty of three nations: Italy, Austria and Switzerland is the scenery that will accompany the splendid “four-wheeled works of art” of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup.
The noteworthy passage on the tough hairpin bends of the Stelvio: epic pages of history have been written along them, and its road has been long favoured by the test drivers who came here during the sixties to test the brakes of their cars. The Strada dello Stelvio still has a unique charm: climbing on its top and watching from there the road you have just driven, which resembles a small snake casually lying there, will certainly be a great emotion for the crews, a unique and breathtaking spectacle.
The other passes are just as tough, like the Gavia, the Mortirolo and the Bernina with its hospice, where the crews will taste the “Alpine lunch” of the second leg.
The fascinating crossing of pearls of the mountains such as Sankt Moritz: chic, elegant and exclusive thanks to its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is located at 1856 metres of height, at the centre of the lake landscape of the High Engadine. Its legendary dry and sparkling is called “champagne climate”, and the famous sun of Sankt Moritz shines on average for 322 days a year.
The passages through Nauders, with its castle located on a sunny plateau, and Glurns, a small jewel at 907 metres of height famous for its medieval walls, or also Santa Caterina Valfurva, the “white paradise” surrounded by the high peaks of the Ortles Cevedale mountain range and set in the heart of the Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, all of them rich with history and history and charm.
Relaxing the arrivals to the hot springs of Bormio and in the heart of this city, capital city of the Alta Valtellina. A thousand years-old place that still offers beautiful artistic, architectonic and historical views to its visitors. Its city centre is one of the most important of the province of Sondrio, and one of the best preserved ones of the Alpine arch.
The whole Alta Valtellina is just as charming, immersed in the Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, a land rich with artistic and cultural testimonies, characterised by splendid city centres, rural homes and archaeological settlements, towers, churches and castles, all signs of past eras that kept their charm in spite of the passing of time.
We are waiting for you in Bormio from 27 to 30 June to live together an unforgettable week-end of passion and motors, elegance and charme, luxury and relaxation interspersed with tough hairpin bends, fast curves and breathtaking sceneries.
