    Cure My OCD Tendencies

just a qiuck rant. got a lovely Patek 5165 from ebay. everything looked fine. then yesterday i find a tiny blemish on the gold rotor and it's just eating at me. i figure i'll just have it corrected when i send it in for service in a few years.
i guess that's one of the advantages of buying from a brick and mortar. you can make sure a piece is as perfect as can be before purchasing.
but really in the end is anything truly perfect? do any of you have watches free of aberrations?

I'm in the same boat. I've found something, even if it's super minor, on all of my watches except for a few. I'm trying to get myself to chill out and I think you should just wear it and enjoy it. Better on the rotor than on the face. If it's a large blemish, maybe exchange or get a refund?

10x loupe is a great tool but it could be your worse enemy.

    The usual stuff:

    -Uneven lume
    -Dust inside crystal
    -Incorrectly re-applied finish(Used watch)
    -Scratches on hands(after service)
    -Scratches on AR

For example, uneven lume is not a big deal for me but a nice scratch on the polished hand will drive me crazy.

You'll be surprise how many problem pass by big swiss group's QC

Perfection is only found in heaven. It's best not to wish for it before your time...

No, I think if you look hard enough there will always be something.
Hafta say though, if you've purchased a Patek unseen, and on ebay at that, you've got bigger tomatoes than me ;)

hahaha tomoatoes! that's what they call those down under eh? i really don't see what the big deal is as long as you buy from a reputable seller, one preferably with a brick and mortar presence. buy the seller as they say..

No I was just keeping things tame :) How about some pics? Even on here it's not every day that someone picks up a PP.
