    Dagaz Diamondback

Anyone ordered one of these yet?

They look good, and I have had good experience with Dagaz/Jake thus far (bunch of mod parts, one Thunderbolt which I flipped - didn't really suit me, but can't fault the build quality).

Still, anyone purchased the Diamondback? Any reviews of it? Impressions? Anything I oughtta know?

I'm looking at having him custom-me-up a vintage Milgauss inspired piece (see pic). He has one pretty close in a stock config, so some tweaks and I'm there.

Guess not...but giving it a one-off bump nonetheless.

If I was heading down to homagetown I would take the Steinhart route.

thanks for that, and yeah I do like Steinhart (hard to beat with that movement at that price point) but still, would end up modding a Vintage heavily to achieve the look I am going for.

Understood. It's all in the look. I like these two.

Yup. Although I will admit your suggestion did send me to eBay looking at third party dials and hands as well as to the Steinhart modding thread here to see if it's doable!

Short answer is maaaaybe. Ebayers have the Milgauss hands...all the decent dials I saw had a date wheel, so that's messy. Maaybe. Price wouldn't be much more than Dagaz.

Aside from the Swiss movement and general well-built-ness of the Steinhart, the main upshot of doing it with a modded O1V would be the easy resale when I inevitably get bored with it. I like Jake and Dagaz, but having just had a haircut on resale of the other piece I owned from them, it did come to mind! I could always mod the Steinhart back to stock and onsell it....microbrands a much harder sell.
