    Is ther eany difference between damascus steel and stainless steel for waches? It looks like those watches got engravings doen and thats not a byproduct of damascus steel.

    For that matter i wonder what case materials are there and what kind of difference it makes....

    That's the same pattern welded steel as used in modern knives...
    It's different metals (nickel, silver, steel) welded or forged into a block. You acid wash it to bring out the contrast

    I must agree, I'm not sure any of the above watches are made of damascus steel. Though a few of them are almost passable imitations of that 'look'.

    Ah i had simply figured the texture was from engraving. (I haven't really read up on damascus steel, was just throwing out a hypothesis)

    Several of them are definitely Damascus steel. I know at least one of them was made by a knife maker who posted about them.

    The Bathys is damascus steel. You can do a search here and read about it. I would agree though that severl of the others do not look like they are.
