    A database for watch collectors

    Hi, guys!

I needed to organize my collection. I found some links about special watch collectors software.

    1. Watch&Clock Collection SA (Multilingual)
    2. GS Uhren-Verwaltung (in German only)
    3. Watch Collector (in English)
    4. Watch Collection Organize (in English only)

I hope, this will be useful for you all.

Anyone have actual experience with any of these? Are there others people like, beyond a cobbled-together Excel sheet?

I'm using the "W&C Collection SA" (number 1 on the list). I like it. I can store any number of photos and records about services. Exel have not possibility to store images. Moreover, this program allows divide my collection into categories. It's very convenient because I can add any numbers of collection category. And more: when I add the servicing data, the W&C calculate the next service date and remind me.

    By the way, good function.
The W&C Collection interface can be translated into any language by the user.

No, no, no... I think - it's completely different things! W&C Collection - a local database, where a collector records all the data on their watch. Convenient to organize the collection.

Watch-street, as I understand, is search engine for choosing a watch.

I find a some problems with the Access database. In first, the size of the database increased very quickly in case you store the images in DB. The images stored in OLE format. The amount of information used to render the object is often greater than the size of the object itself. For example, you add image 400-450 kB. In this case size of Access DB will be increase on 2000 kB.

No such problem with the database W & C Collection SA (allmywatch.com). And I have not seen this problem in Watch Collection Organize.

I would like to announce that a new version of W & C Collection is available. Added many new features. For example, the measurement accuracy of watches function (Tic!-button)
