    Date vs. No Date

Do you guys usually go for date or no date and why? Which one would you recommend for this perticular model? The date complication makes the watch 2.2mm thicker (10mm vs 12.2mm) and I do not wear suits very often.

    Re: Date vs. No Date

I have so many watches in rotation that it becomes a bit of a pain to keep on adjusting dates every other month. I do find date complications to be useful but unless it is a perpetual calendar I have to weigh the merits with the hassle and I not infrequently find myself preferring the simplicity of a no-date watch.

On the GO in question, I could go either way.

I usually prefer date, but on this particular watch, I would go without it. Something about the placement throws it all off in my mind.

In principle, I prefer a date complication for practical reasons. It’s just damned handy. I’m more forgiving of casual watches, since I’m less likely to care what date it is outside of work. But I agree with other posters, the date throws off the look of the watch you’re considering.

I don't care, either way, usually. In this case, my thoughts are that as a "pure" dress watch, the no-date is better, but a big date feature is great. If I had the choice, I'd get the big date.

I agree. I have so many watches that (most of the time) setting the date is a burden. I don't find that dates make a watch prettier, either. Often a date window throws the watch symmetry off.

    Re: Date vs. No Date

I like the functionality of a date complication, but it's one more thing to reset if you let the power reserve run down and the watch stops. On a regularly worn piece (4+ days per week) that you keep running all the time, the functionality is worth the inconvenience. For an occasional piece, I'd pass.
