Days are going to be 25 hours in the future...

Days are going to be 25 hours in the future not in our lifetime but later generations. I just read an article in my native Romanian language. Most of the info was based on german and uk research Richard Stephenson Durham University, UK, in Journal for the History of Astronomy. In germany newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung.
About 530 millions years ago it was 21 hours. 100 million years ago it was 23 hours. It goes to explain how it has to do with the Moon and how the Earth speed rotation is slowing down.

It will not be easy to design watches when that happens. I guess all will be "25" hour watches. Not possible to design a 12,5 hour watch! Unless of course the 25 hour day is split up in 24 hours! Each hour will be a little bit longer than today.

That's incredibly good news! More time for gardening, music, and of course watch collecting

Based on those figures (i.e. taking 100 million years to go from 23 to 24 hours), I don't think we'll have to worry about picking up the full extra hour for several million years. Besides, aren't the days still just shy of 24 full hours anyway (we're at something like 23 hours and 56 minutes)? How does a watch compensate for that?

That is the apparent sidereal day for Earth is 23.934 solar hours. Mean solar time is what your watch measures, the length of the mean solar day is 86,400.002 SI seconds long.

I leave it to the reader to figure out out far off that is to the 24 hours we read on our watches.

Will that screw up my ebay auctions?

Understeer is when you hit the wall with your front end. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with your rear end. Horsepower is how hard you hit the wall. Torque is how far you move the wall.
