The Debaufre forum is now closed. Let's discuss them here.

I just discovered their watches yesterday and decided that I want to pick up one of their 48mm pilot watches. But we can still discuss their watches here.

He could, but the two companies are no longer related. Besides appearance of a lot of their watches, and their history, they are no longer in business together. So maybe if the OP wants a Debaufre, he should check out Steinhart.

I had been eyeballing the Ocean-1 with green bezel and tried calling Debaufre a few weeks ago and got an answering machine. I emailed too, asking about availability before I found this thread. I just got an email back from Brittany saying that the watch is now available.

    Maybe the brand isn't dead?

I too have heard they are toast according to my jeweler buddy.

I would guess anything that is available is just remaining inventory, so grab one if you like it before they all go away.

I was just looking at the Ocean-1 the other day. It certainly looks like everything is still in stock on their site.

The Ocean 1 Classic Edition I bought approximately five years ago now needs a movement service: it's stopped on my wrist once or twice and -- when shaken -- it sounds gritty instead of that known ETA 2824 rotor sound. (The winding mechanism is "crunchy," too.)

I'm just presuming it is standard service time...
