    Defect?

And now , in the category of ‘would this bother you?’ , I just noticed this on my recently purchased Seiko Transocean Chronograph. The underside of the bezel , just to the left and under the number 30, there is discoloration or perhaps a ceramic bezel manufacturing defect . It’s really starting to irritate me!

Are you talking about the three pinkish marks?

If that wasn't a scratch and it came like that, definitely take it back

    Yes the pinkish discoloration.
This is a Seiko JDM product . Would Seiko USA even accept it for warranty work?

Oh yes, get that back to them immediately. Can you not just return it? Also, I'm puzzled as to why the marks are that color. Isn't ceramic the same color all the way through? That ceramic material should be black, not painted black.

Are you sure it's not just something stuck inside the teeth (serrations) of the bezel? If it was damaged it would break off the tops of the serrations, not inside the valley's. Try scrapping it off using something made of wood or plastic.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you had it? The bracelet looks like its seen some wear, but I suppose that could happen in a day. Guess I’m just surprised you didn’t notice the blemishes right away...or do they look much worse in the close-up?

But to answer your question; yeah...it would bug the crap outta me.

Thanks folks. The watch is new. The photo is particularly great .
While it does show the discoloration of the bezel, it does appear to make the bracelet look worn. It is pristine except for the bezel.
Yes, this is a ceramic bezel. It likely was this way the day I unpacked it; just never noticed. I’ve have had a MM600 and MM300. If either one had this blemish, they would go straight back to Seiya and gnomon watches immediately. This watch was purchased new albeit on our favorite despised auction site.

    Re: Defect?

If that's new then somebody had it before you. The bracelet looks well worn. Those look like scratches or chips. If that was sold as new , it should go back for a refund.
