Which diver for my daily driver.

Quick background I’m a one watch guy. Always just one diver which I wear 24/7. Im a police officer and wear the watch on duty and off duty only time I remove it is for CrossFit.

I never keep a watch more than 12 months as so far I’ve always enjoyed what I’ve had at the time then fancy a change. My budget is around £2000 and I will only buy used as that’s where the value is. Some of my previous watches over the last few years for reference have been

    Marathon GSAR
    Seiko Sumo
    Seiko Marinemaster 300
    Omega seamaster planetocean 2500 42m
    Sinn u1
    Steinhart ocean one titanium
    Oris aquis

Currently I’m thinking Tudor Pelagos Black in house or Tudor black bay blue or black. My wrist is 6.75’’

Sinn U1 as a daily, for sure! Toolish, really bold looking, no shiny part to scratch up, and not as tall feeling as the mm300

    Edit :

Now that I've actually read the full post, how about the previous iteration of the Seamaster without the wave dial? I would recommend the blue gloss tile with the blue ceramic bezel that's an option. With the new one out, you can probably find a really nice version pre-owned.

I agree with the pelagos as well. I have the lhd and it was tremendous.

But he’s already had the U1 (and mm300).

Can’t go wrong with the Pelagos I think.

Oh... I admittedly did not read the full post. I read the first sentence, then I read the list, and then I gave my option based on the list without realizing that those are the ones that he already had!

I think the Black Bay would be worth a try

You seem to prefer tool watches, so the Pelagos might be a good fit. The Black Bay is a no-date, so just give that some thought if you have not had a no-date watch before. I bought one years ago and was constantly annoyed to find myself pulling out my phone to check the date. It just seemed a little ridiculous.

    Happy hunting,
    Dave

For a 'daily driver' I'd go with the Pelagos or the new 2018 Seamaster Pro. A date feature is a very nice thing to have for an everyday watch

Plus one for Pelagos. I was gifted a 16610 15 years ago and it will forever hold the position as my nice diver. If it didn’t hold such sentimental value to me, I think I’d easily get as much or more excitement and enjoyment from a Pelagos. Beauty. Love the titanium weight too.

That grey Oris Aquis is a beauty. Why not be a two-watch guy? That Oris could do double duty as a tool watch and a dress watch.

If your wrist size is approximately 17 cm, I would recommend considering the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight. The case size is 39 mm, the movement is in-house, COSC with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and is waterproofed to 200 meters.
