do you all consider cheap casio and timex digitals "disposable"?

just curious I have been wearing casio digital watches since I was a kid and recently got back into wearing watches. I got in the past few months a casio a168 in gold a casio w-59 and a timex digital dress watch in two-tone. I read in a lot of stuff online once the battery is dead people just buy a new one but I get so attached to my things especially things I wear. I would get the batteries replaced until it actually breaks down. does anyone have digital watches they have had for a while in which they have had the batteries replaced at least once or twice ?

Only in so far as if they fail it may be cheaper to replace the watch than have it repaired. If the watch was dog rough and needed a new battery I might consider replacing the whole lot but not if the watch was in good condition.

the place by me charges 5 dollars to replace digital watch batteries to me I take good care of my stuff so I would rather pay 5 bucks to replace the battery than the whole thing plus to me each item I own has a sentimental value to me even cheaper things but that's just me.

I'd say that many Casio's are disposable in the sense that they can be easily replaced. If I were to lose my DW-5600e G-shock, I'd be able to order another one off Amazon for around 40 dollars. But many of these easily replaced watches are certainly sturdy, being able to withstand the rigors of daily life for years to come with proper care and battery changes when necessary.

true I'm going to try to keep mine until they break down I'm thinking they will last though 2 battery changes min I always had good luck with casio and timex in terms of long lasting.

I think you're mixing up style and utility. I'll put my most expensive mechanical against your G-Shock in the boardroom, nightclub, job interview, resale value, etc., any day. There's only one or two G-Shocks I'd wear and I do recognize their usefulness for certain activities where having a cheap, bulletproof watch is the way to go.

I would put a new battery in, but if it needed further repairs, ditch it.
