Do you fall in and out of love with your watches?

So I bought a Panerai 392 February of this year and for the first 6 months thought it was great. The last couple of months I started feeling a bit jaded towards it and was focussing on its faults (such as it being quite thick) and it didn't get a lot of wrist time. Was seriously considering selling it but put it back on the oem strap this week and am now back in love, the thought of selling it has completely gone out of the window.

Did a a similar thing with my Omega PO recently as well, I'm wondering whether I'm projecting the possible need for making other changes in my life onto my watches, as that's far easier to do. But things have got a lot better this week - mainly work being far less stressful, coincidence that I now suddenly feel much happier with my collection as well?

    anyone else get this?

Well, Emtee....I sense you've made the same mistakes with women and work as you do with watches.....
I suggest you get a Rolex...Change jobs....Move to Bermuda and start over.
    Start with the Rolex first.......

I've been smitten with new watches for months, then fallen out of love to the point I boxed them up and put them in the safe, intending to sell. Then, 6 months later the love returns and they're back in regular rotation.

This was one such watch, glad I kept it, it's one of my favs.

Yup,there are times when I kinda got bored with my watches, usually I just leave it for a while and wear the others before I take a look at the particular watch..now I felt the same with Pam 23 and 24..so I just leave them for a bit and wear my other watches

The honeymoon periods for my watches vary. I've turned into a bit of a serial flipper. My girlfriends thinks I just like new things. She may be right.

Re: Do you fall in and out of love with your watches?

It happens to me all the time. It's one of the reasons I have a large collection; with so many watches, there is almost always something to fall in love with again.
It's interesting you mention your strap change. This is my favourite way of re-igniting my love for certain watches: try a few different straps, and it can make such a huge difference.

Still...even so, it doesn't mean I have to stop adding to the collection.

Yep, there were times over the decades I didn't wear my Lucien Piccard, being young and foolish and all that.
