    Do you insure your watches?

    Simple question.
say you own a single $10k+ watch, or a collection valued $20k+, do you insure them?

im thinking of insuring, but not 100% sure.

Depends. Usually, homeowner's insurance covers it. At least mine does.

Most homeowners policy cover "jewelry" to a certain amount. Check with your agent.

    Do you insure your watches?

Very limited amount under homeowners. I have a separate jewelry policy that covers my watches. Due to flipping my agent's head is ready to explode but hey that's what he gets paid for, right?

Unless they were very recently purchased you will most likely need to get them appraised.

I have a policy for my more expensive watches from jewelers mutual. No deductible, reasonable premiums, and any claims don't impact my homeowners insurance rates.

I 'name' specific high value items on my policy as generic cover only goes up to a set amount per individual item. Named wife's engagement ring and my omega but left cheaper watches to generic cover.

    Yes.

And when you hunt around it doesn't cost that much either.

Nooooo, I don't trust my Insurance company.....
I don't trust Life insurance either.
How do you know they will pay off after you die...
    You don't, you're dead !

Call your insurance company and see what your limits are. If you have watches worth more than that, get additional coverage. Mine only went up to 1k, so I've had to separately add a few things.

My collection is over 20K but the only thing insured is my butt kicking I will receive if the wife finds out the true costs of my addiction .
