Does anyone own a watch by the company Alpha?

I was wondering what people thought about this brand. I'm interested in the GMT pepsi dial model. Does the hour hand move backward and forward in hour increments or does it all move at once.

It may be helpful to ask in the Chinese forum too. Alphas are popular there.

No help on the GMT, but ive got a Speedy from Alpha, and have nothing but great things to say about it.

Winds very well, great weight, very solid, and the bracelet is just as good as an Omega, IMO. Get it, if you dont like it you wont have a hard time flipping it on this forum, and getting most of your money back.

The above comment is exactly right (according to my own experience). I also have Speedmaster and like it very much. Bought a Seamaster and didn't care for it. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't grab me. Sold it quickly and moved on. I would not hesitate in buying another Alpha (or five more).

Here's my Alpha GMT. The watch is a fun piece and is definately worth the money. As far as the GMT hand goes, it slowly moves around the dial and doesn't jump from hour to hour. Mine has been keeping great time. Some people love the oyster bracelets from Alpha, but to me, they're not the greatest. Other than that though, no complaints.

Smalls, I just gotta say- that's brilliant composition right there. I love it!

Feel free to re-post on our "Affordables" or "Chinese Watches Forum": A lot of discussion on Alpha watches over there.

Ugh...I owned one, and it was immediately apparent why they cost $60. If you want an absolute beater, I suppose it would work. Quite frankly, a cheap Timex or Casio will stand up to abuse better.

I'm not a watch snob, either. I own an ESQ and a Citizen, and an Invicta as a daily beater. Even the Invicta feels better than the Alpha.

I have an Alpha Explorer. Keeps excellent time (about + 4 or 5 seconds per day). Have NO idea what movement is in it, as the Alpha folks either keep that a deep, dark secret or just plain don't keep records. Absolutely no problems reported thus far.
