dress watches with inhouse movement under 4k?

    hello all,

i have recently acquired a nomos tangomat with sapphire back and white dial. i am absolutely in love with it, its size (38.5mm) was difficult to get used to but i have become quite fond of it over time.

i am now looking for a similar watch with similar specs:
    in house
    under 40mm
    black dial
    sapphire back

what i am looking at is the nomos zurich and zenith captain central seconds.
    what are your thoughts/ suggestions?

I literally clicked on this thread to suggest a SARB021.
Guys, I really really really do understand that there was a hack and that my password was reset, but I'm about to take a year off from WUS if you can't stop telling me about it every time I log in. With my password. That you reset.

If I could be serious though, that Zenith is an awesome watch, and a lot thinner than the SARB if you care about it. There's no question you're getting more watch in the Zenith, as you should for eight times the money. I never liked Nomos styling but you obviously do. The Zurich looks very old and antiquey the way it has almost no bezel, which I hate, but the movement is beautiful.

You could probably get a pre-owned JLC Master Grande Ultra Thin (Model Q1358470) for around $4k. It is probably one of the nicest black-dial dress watch you could own.

You could look at vintage, you would probably get a 18k gold piaget for half that.

    Isn't the Epsilon movement a 7750 copy?

good suggestions, but I imagine you can get entry level Grand Seiko automatics for this price, which would certainly be the best movements you could get for this money. You might be able to afford an Aqua Terra 8500, although that's a little less dressy, also with a great movement. You can get basically any Nomos, which is a mostly in house movement.

Nope, the Epsilon is a time only, sub seconds automatic. The 7750 is an automatic chronograph movement.

    7750:

    Nomos Zurich (with Epsilon movement):

    Omega Speedmaster Professional 3570.50
    Seiko Sumo SBDC003
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931
    Rolex GMT Master II BLNR
