It's all because they stole Burger King from us. That's American Royalty Damnit!

Well, that and oil prices and the price of tea in China.

I caught plenty of rubbing from them working up there a decade ago. They can take it ;).

back to the watch......one thing to consider is that while we criticize him for not wearing a SEAdweller swimming, he may have had plans to hop in the sauna afterwards. As tough as the SD is, the hot/cold cycles are wise to avoid.

I get the not leaving valuables in a locker. But I can't fault the guy for not wanting to wear a watch that may be over 30 years old in water, especially with the added chemicals. Who knows if it has had a recent service and is actually waterproof? Heck, I'm sure many of us are guilty of keeping some watch of ours away from the activity they were designed for. And it's not too different from all those SUVs that have never seen so much as a gravel road.

And when I first saw this thread, I thought it was some gold Rolex, which I would not take swimming regardless because of the chemicals in the pool and the lack of taste (in my eyes).

I wonder if the thief knew what he stole or if he just saw 'a watch' and took the opportunity to steal it.

I have to assume he had the locker locked. Hard to believe he wouldn't. If he didn't, well that's just stupid. Makes me realize that I need an uncuttable (if there is one) combination lock.

Just basic risk mitigation. Even if you go there straight from work, plan what you're wearing to work at the start of the day.
If he can spend 26k on a watch. He can afford his own pool.

Was the lesson that you should never, and I mean NEVER be caught dead with a murse? The thief saw that murse and said "I don't think I'll get much resistance from this guy!"

    In the City?

A lot of urbanites that can spend $26k on a watch go to health clubs, or belong to social clubs that have their own pool, etc. Or a part of an upscale gym membership.

Footnotes, Toronto is a city geared toward internationally exported crime, Sea dwellers don't belong in lockers, and Murses are never ok.
