    EDC Tissot tool or alternative

So I posted this on this tissot forum but didn't get much in the way of feedback so I am throwing it our to the general forum in hopes of getting some further ideas.

Saw this Tissot V8 at the AD the other day and thought I could be on a winner. Currently under $500AUD on sale, and for that get sapphire glass, exhibition case back, 100m WR, 70+ hr power reserve, nice clean look with just a little color. Asked the tissot forum and just had one person respond saying it was an "unserviceable" movement?

So I guess I have a 2 fold question for the powers that be:
    1) anyone have any firsthand experience with this watch or can shed any light on what the tissot person meant?
    2) recommend any other similar style/quality watches in a similar price bracket? Or at least 1k and under

    TIA

I saw this watch on Creation for about £200 a little while ago. It's since sold out, but'll be back.

That's absolutely top money I'd pay for it. It's £315 on Tissot's own site.

The watch is fine and if you like it, buy it without reservation.

But the reason people may not be as keen is the Swissmatic movement. It's a permutation of the Swatch system 51.
It's entirely machine built. It's not possible to regulate it, let alone service it. The beauty of automatic movements is that the intricate mechanism involving human input and ingenuity. The fact that its unregulateable and largely plastic takes away from it's desirability.

    Try:-

    Squale 20atmos
    Seiko SKX, Turtle, Samurai, Sumo
    Oris Aquis
    Glycine Diver
    Orient M-Force, Mako
    Deep Blue
    Helson Diver
    Steinhart Diver
...... There's gazillions more, but these are a good start.

I’m with Cats on this one. See what Seiko have to offer you for the same sort of money.

Far superior is the Seiko cocktail time at the same price point. Do not care for Tissot color scheme on this watch.
