Edox Class 1 aka "Why do my impulse buys occur when WUS is down?!"

Please oh please tell me I didn't just pick up something that has the hit and miss build quality of an Invicta....

Edox Class 1 quartz diver Model 70157.

I found it on a popular website (that is named after a jungle/river/basin/tribe of fierce women in South America) at over 70% off. Normally I'd check WUS to make sure to make sure this wasn't one of those Shop NBC gimmicks of putting an MSRP of $2000 on a $200 watch and claiming it's 90% off. Luck of lucks, the forum was down and google didn't really yield much in terms of reviews. Their official site isn't much better since it's all flash based and constantly crashes my player. The specs looked good on paper and Am...oops I mean "Jungle website" offers it with a manufacturer's warranty rather than a shop/website warranty.

So I'm asking now rather than suffer a heart attack while waiting for it. Does Edox make decent watches or did I just overpay for a piece that should be worth more like $50-60 rather than several hundred? And while we're at it, does anyone know what their quartz movement is? One tidbit from google search says it's an ETA 11 1/2 F 06.111, but I've never heard of that nomenclature before...

I know next to nothing about quartz movements, but Edox has been around for a long time and you need not fear that you've bought an el cheapo fashion watch. I was doing the same thing for a while when WUS was down, and actually put a $1900 bid on a watch. Didn't win it though, maybe I should be thankful!

ps..i think the Edox hourglass symbol is one of the best in the business, as far as logos go.

EDOX is a great brand with a lot of history behind; maybe more in the line of non-orthodox designs, maybe more fashion oriented, but great quality. I have an Ice Shark Class 1 Diver and love it. You will see.

This is my EDOX and I can tell you that the build quality is superb; mine in particular has an outstanding ceramic bezel that you can`t find in any other watch; I know too, other edox models and are really nice.

Hi, I"m a new member with WUS, I got the watch 2 days ago great watch but the bracelet a bit cheesy. I would like to find a good leather strap for it any suggestions please.

    Thanks,

Don't worry. I've seen Edox carried in some very good watch shops in the same price-point section where they position their Hamiltons, Oris, etc.
