Epos Emotion 3390 vs. Mido Baroncelli 3 COSC

    Hi Guys!

What do you think? Which of the two should I choose? Price wise about the same ~$750 USD, but Mido is COSC. Are Epos well regulated to compare with COSC certification?

Has anybody had experience with any of them or both?

    Vote if you please.

    Thanks!

The back pictures as well. I don't have a back picture for this particular Mido, but the mechanism used must be very similar to this one from another Mido COSC:

If you spend some time to read about MIDO, you will be surprised - some of the most experienced among members here agree this is a hugely underrated brand for the quality it offers. In addition, it holds a chronometer grade movement, which is always a good thing... Not to mention the date has matching background, so it does not poke your eyes as a cut-out hole...

In this case, MIDO is the better one, IMHO

I voted for the Mido purely on aesthetics.

I like the dial, crown, lugs, and chapter ring better.

The Mido beats the Epos hands down. (I almost bought one and will likely get one in the future).
Be sure to post some photos.

Ok where are you finding the baroncelli iii for 750? If I can ask? Looking at same watches but in white/silver.

COSC certificated movements are regulated to 5 positions compared to 1 or 2 positions on non-COSC movements (most of them aren't regulated at all and have "factory" accuracy of +/-15s per day), that's why watches with COSC movements are very accurate regardless how you wear them.

I've owned 4 Epos watches and I've looked at Mido. Epos hands down. Plus the Epos is 41mm and that eliminates the 38mm Mido for me.

I found Mido Baroncelli here and Epos Emotion here. IF any of you have experience (good or bad) with these sellers please let me know.

I see that Mido wins in the view of most: for some based on aesthetics for others because of COSC. I like, to be honest, Epos design very much and did not find the white date obtrusive at all, especially since it is positioned at 6 o'clock. The mechanism is heavily decorated. But I wanted to know from you how is it regulated also, from the factory. I know Stowa comes very well regulated even though it's not COSC (from other users I found that it usually keeps 3 sec per day). I hoped that Epos came in the same manner which placed it in COSC category. From replies I didn't get an answer to this question.

Mido is 39mm not 38mm as far as Specs are concerned.

    Thanks, keep it coming!

Regarding the Mido case back, that photo matches one taken by Jim at Arizona Fine Time (a AD for Mido). The COSC movement is highly decorated with blued screws, geneva stripes, and one other type of decoration that I don't know the name for (as an alternate for perlage). The case back is secured by 4 screws.

Regarding shop4brand, I'm not sure they are a AD and their English in email communications seemed very poor.
