Every had one of those duh moments

I grabbed my Poljot out of the watch box, today. On the way to work I noticed it was running slowing. After a few hours I noticed it was running an hour behind. I was like hmmm.... Then I remembered its a hand wind movement and I didnt wind it today. That is one of the reasons I brought it and after FULLY winding the watch its keeping great time.

    DUH !!!

Yep, had the same moment with a Poljot 3133. Couldn't figure out for the life of me why the watch was running so slow. When I got home from work is when I realised it's a manual wind.

I did have one a while back but not watch related.

I tried to open the front door of my house using the car remote central locking key.

Did you wonder why the porch light didn't blink twice?

I left the gas burner on the job on the other day. And then put a plastic lid on it.

I absolutely love my hand-wound watches.

Sometimes I really just need a perfect alibi which is better than the digital consumer excuses: 'sorry - my watch stopped due to lack of winding' just really cracks my colleagues up.

They're old enough to read behind the message and take it on the cuff.

wore a quartz to work one day and decided to sync the time with the office clock. after about a couple of hours i looked at my watch and noticed that it wasn't running, thought it had a dead battery. after work, i went to the watchmaker, gave him the watch and told him to check the battery, he actually almost fell off his seat laughing at me. turns out i forgot to push the crown in. super doh!
in my defense, there's very little space between the crown and the case for me to notice it was not pushed in. good thing i didn't wash my hands all day.

Woke up one morning and found that my recently acquired UTS Commander had stopped during the night. Tried to move it around to wind it, but it was still broke. Got really pissed off that I wasted good money on a crap watch. Then it dawned on me. It's a manual wind, DUH!
