Is this a fake Movado movement??

I accidentally posted this in the high end quartz forum, when it belongs here. This movement looks 100% real to me. I sold this piece to some lady. She is claiming I sold her a fake. I think she is daft! Thanks, Justin.

I didn't even know there were "authentic" Movado movements in the first place. Look for writing on there for Ronda or ETA. I'm not sure which maker Movado uses, or if they use a variety.

Movado used to use ETA movements and has now moved onto using those made by Ronda. If it's either of those it's likely genuine. All they really do is stamp their name onto the movement.

Yours looks genuine however you have to take into account that someone dealing in fakes could easily drop in a genuine ETA movement. They usually won't go through the trouble of putting Movado's name on it though so what you have is probably genuine.

Eta makes the movements. I can't see from my original pic if it is marked eta. Guess I will find out when I get it back.

It's using a "nice" battery too. I think she's sound pretty sketchy. But if you can get it back, refund it, and no damage is done to either party, probably best to just do it.

Agreed. We will have to see if I get the same watch back that I sent.

As far as I know, there are no fake movado quartz movements.
    Lots of dive watches.

I've never heard of a fake Movado quartz movement.
On closed-back watches, the rep factories won't typically bother to "brand" the movement.
And fake quartz movements will be Chinese or Japanese, not ETA or Sellita.
I'm anxious to hear if the watch is returned with the same movement you sold it with. It could be a scam.
Otherwise, it sounds like she just changed her mind and was looking for any excuse for a refund.
Let us know how this turns out please.
