    Famous writers/artist/intellectuals and their watches

    Hello,
I'm very interested in gathering information about watches worn by famous writers and intellectuals, of any era. We have enough threads of "celebrities" and their watches, but I find rather difficult to get info about what other public figures linked to the arts and culture wear.
I hope there are some other people interested in this topic. If you happen to have something to share, please do it.

As a start, here is Picasso with a GMT Master.

Hemingway wearing Rolex, probably a bubbleback,

Haruki Murakami, not sure about this one,

Marcel Proust? None. He was “in search of lost times”

    Sorry I just couldn’t resist.

I guess you meant "In search of lost Time". Good joke though.
    Sorry, I couldn't resist either.

Another WUS member identified George Martin’s watch as being a Breitling Top Time in a thread a while ago:

Seiko Spring Drive was my wedding watch, Rolex Datejust was my anniversary watch, but I call Oris home.

I’m sure this is well known by most people here, but writer Gary Shteygart is one of the most high profile watch lovers around right now. He seems to especially like German watches; this is a picture of him at Nomos, taken from his Instagram.

Looks like he got some strudel as well, lucky guy.
Another member recently recommended his recent novel "Lake Success," and it's a fun read for a WIS because the main character is a WIS.

Hunter S Thompson wore a couple of different GMT Masters but mostly a Coke bezel.

Didn't Warhol rather famously wear a Cartier Tank that he didn't bother to set?
