    Favre Leuba Moonphase-is it original?

    Hi all!

I'm interested in buying a Favre-Leuba moon phase I found online and was wondering if it is all original? Any other information on the watch would be greatly appreciated. The person selling wants $1000 dollars, but I'm not sure if it's worth that amount (I know you don't do valuations but I was just wondering if it is a fair price) Thanks in advance!

Looks good and to me looks like an old Valjoux movement

This is the 90 but i think they used the 88 movement

Favre Leuba made them in the mid 50s i believe
worth can't help you there sorry

$1000 for a Valjoux full calendar in working condition is a very reasonable price.

Favre Leuba used the Valjoux 89 as well...

....movement looks good to me. Not that sure regarding the dial. The hour numerals overlay the minutes which seems odd to me. Re-dialed ? In the FL pic I attached you see that this dial is easily and good to read.
    Kind regards

This was the only niggle I really had about the watch- if anyone else has any information regarding this it would be great!

The Favre Leuba Valjoux 90 seems costly and the dial looks 90% redial, reprint and not so professional. accord to the age, the month and day dial color compare with dial are not so match, and the white/black pattern show it use air-brush instead of print, that means it maybe work before 90s. in other point, the dial even no patina, maybe the watch keep in a very excellent temp control and dry safe, but if you look at the movement of this watch, I don't think it is.
in fact, the valjoux 90 movement watch is much more sought and the price rise very quickly, but $1000 for the re-dial is not worth, in ebay i use under 300 to get one Damas valjoux 90 in run condition, so it just up to your luck
the lower Favre Leuba valjoux 89 is from a Singapore seller, and the dial is 1000% redone and in very bad job. the valjoux 89 is more hard to find than a 90 , in ebay if you willing to pay euro 10k you have many choice, even you got one don't be happy, the moonphase part is 98% not work!
