    We need a psychiatrist forum.

Sorry OP, there are too many factors to determine your neurosis in such a short conversation.

Wear what you like. If you cannot afford what you like(me), buy something you can appreciate for what it is. No one in the real world cares what you are wearing. This is not the real world. This is a slice of it, a very thin slice.

Is there a specific incident that you can point to ...I think not....do the voices in your head tell you unless you have a Speedy/Sub ..etc you are worthless ???

The only solution to this is disconnect your internet connection ...wrap your house/apt/basement in tin foil and just exist on delivery pizza slipped under the door ..

My affordable watch collection pleases me on a daily basis. I am not impressed with watches that cost more than a new car .. nor with the people who buy them. I am impressed with quality that comes at a reasonable cost.

    Op,

As many before me have said here and other places, buy and enjoy what YOU like.
    Enjoy the ride!

In sum, you need no one else's validation except your own. Whether it be watches or anything else

    Best,

    Scott

I recently watched this with horror and amusement.
Apparently, these people are allowed to walk around, whine, and wave and whatnot.

Hope you stick around. I read an interesting post on cost/value and when you start to get in the higher end market things go sideways. As someone pointed out, a 20.00 timex might keep better time than a 10k Rolex but to some the Rolex offers better value. I'm in search of a few Microbrand watches now that I feel will fill a void in my collection and there are people out there that will always look down on them. I've gotten to a point where I don't care what others think. I hope you get there too! Like any other part in life - there are a few jerks but I've found most watch enthusiasts to be friendly and enjoy the hobby regardless of their economic status.

Op, lots of posters have asked you to elaborate on what you've experienced. Is anything forthcoming?
Well, I was standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ and Clara Oswald slowed down to take a look at me and my GS Tiffany SnowflakeTM...

You could be mixing with the wrong sort of people. Here on WUS there are a lot of people who know vastly more about watches than I do but snobs are a bit thin on the ground.
