Off Topic post An fffordable automatic with a big date & sub-seconds \ power reserve feature ?

    Hi guys,

I was wondering, is the an affordable (e.g: not a $2000+ watch) swiss automatic watch that is featuing a big date and sub-seconds \ power reserve features on the dial ?

I was looking into victorinox models one of them has a PR, the other one has a sub seconds, they are in the range of $350-600 - but none of them has a big date feature.

Any opinions will be appreciated ;)

    Many thanks,
    Db1

Big date and small second are available from EPOS, Perrelet, Schwarz-Etienne, Armand Nicolet, Bruno Söhnle, all without PR and way to expensive.

    Hello there,

I don't know any Swiss watches that fit your price criteria, but how about a Polish one?

m/s Batory Big Date, about 280 euros

You can find out more about them in the affordable watches section, or on their website:

Thanks for the replies mates !

    I don't mind if it's a polish watch ;)

Look like a nice one, do you know what movement are they using?

    Cheers!

They are using a Chinese Sea Gull ST2526, class AAA, with hacking and hand-winding features.

i had no idea about the existence of that particular watch, but i did follow the link and discovered that it houses Sea Gull movement (chineese watch production company).
seagull does make a big variety of complications, as well as a tourbillon, but they are not cheap either. of course nowhere near swiss complication but still like a middle range watch.

i am a sucker for complications myself, i have all the "affordable" one's like date, gmt, chrono...but that is as far as my budget can stretch, anything more "complicated" will either be crazy expensive or a chineese, which i dont want to acquire... well at least not yet :)

Looks like a nice option (I'm considering).

Does it look as classy as It appear to look on the photos for a marine watch ? Does it wear big on the wrist ? (I am currently wearing a 40mm watch which wears comfy on my wrist but it's a bit thinner)

How is the ST2526 movement ? (Servicable ? Can be purshased from the web?)

    thanks!
