FIFA official's watch collection put up for bail

    From the internet:
Jeffrey Webb secures bond with 11 watches wife wedding ring - ESPN FC

What is a shame and depressing is how underwhelming this collection is. Obviously high value and a few pieces I would love. But with all that alledged corruption money, not a single PP or VC or Breguet or Lange or Journe... Maybe he hid them.

That's it. Nothing else to see here, moving on...

They are all 'impress the masses' watches with name recognition. Why, if he owned actually hyper expensive watches, would he put them up if these suffice?

Buy what you like, keep what you love, don't spend too much.
As long as you follow those simple rules - you shouldn't listen to anyone about your watches.

Interesting that for the Rolex's it lists "no serial number apparent"... This includes the SkyDweller and YMII, both $25k-$35K watchs. Anyone that knows the least bit understands the serial number is in the rehaut - chapter ring. Makes me wonder whether he put up counterfeit watches as collateral?

Considering he was arrested for taking bribe and money laundering, it makes a whole lot of sense. If he has haute horlogerie pieces worth hundred of thousands perhaps millions the question becomes "so how did you pay for all these watches"?

Ha, there's truth there, assume the worst with FIFA. They have been destroying the sport I love for ages. Luckily their corruption will not taint the great Swiss watch brands. (Well I wouldnt mind seeing Hublot go down....

    ...I'm kidding.)

But yes, these guys meet up in Geneva all the time and some major watch brands are always trying to get in on sponsorship deals with FIFA, so I would think some of these guys know haute horlogerie and own by hook or crook really exemplary pieces. Which makes me even more ticked off...oh well justice will be served?!?!

Typical flashy, big-name, little interesting stuff collection. The way some watches are listed, guy probably could not tell Panerai from Luminor.
All flash, little substance. Unsurprising for corrupt official. Unsurprising for FIFA exec.

Agreed, the collection did not strike me as one of a WIS.

Nor his car collection that of a serious car enthusiast.

However I'd gladly accept most of his watches, then again I'm not a WIS.
