First foray into watch modding - CRAP

    Story time ladies and gentlemen:

So I decided that I wanted to put Monster hands on my brand new SKX007. Somebody on Reddit offered to give me the monster hands, dial, and date wheel he had sitting around for a very good price.

I only wanted to put on the hands, so I went on e-bay and ordered the hand removal tool.

Turns out the Monster parts got here before the hand removal tool did. Like an idiot I decided I couldn't wait.

    Here are the results.

And this is why I should have waited for the hand removal tool to come in before I tried prying hands off with tweezers/pliers/screwdrivers

So, now I know that I'm an idiot and impatient. But at least now I have something to use for if I decide to relume hands myself!

The next thing I'd like to do is get a black date/day wheel with white numbers.

You only damaged the 007 hands that you no longer wanted on that watch, right?

Either way - yes - the right tools for the job and all that...

I see exactly what you did wrong. You didn't use a big enough hammer.
That's all you really need for any job.....the right size hammer.
Bigger the hammer, easier the repair........Bigger hammer.

How exactly did you get the day to stick like that? I just tried it and can't get one to stay there - it flips before that. That's assuming you have it in setting mode - if not, I sense the hands may be coming back off soon... Otherwise looks good, though. Luming hands is an acquired skill, but very satisfying once you get enough practice.

That was the pic I took before I had to take it off again to correct the date change.

No worries. This is just good experience and you have learned from it.

Next time you mod, you will have more knowledge under your belt, since it will no longer be your first rodeo.
