First "luxury" watch for approx £1,500 used.

    Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum. Having just started my career, I have saved up for an automatic watch that I would love to procure for myself as a first work anniversary thing.

I always wanted a "fancy" watch and have been luring around these forums for some time. As my first thread, I hope that I have not started this thread in the wrong sub-forum.

I am looking for a decent watch that I can wear for work (office desk job) that is less than £1,500. I don't mind a used watch.

Features I am looking for include:
    - Automatic movement
    - Preferably Stainless Steel strap [Rubber smells bad when I sweat and so does leather ]
    - Preferably with date, with day is a plus
    - Something special about the watch [I don't really want a simple watch for £1,500. I appreciate that the more features you have the more expensive the watch is, but I don't really want a boring watch. Just one exciting feature will do ]

Are there any recommendations that the kind community at WUS can give me?

I'm also based in the UK, any idea where I can find used watches besides ebay?

I think you should do some browsing on a site like Jomashop.com and post a few pics of the watches you like to give folks some idea what to go on. There are hundreds of good watches available in your price range with all kinds of looks and complications.
Grand Seiko SBGE033, Jaquest Droz Grande Seconde, Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute, Prometheus Piranha, Orient Wingman, Zeppelin Flatline 7366-3, Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar, Epos Emotion 3390, Steinhart Ocean 2 Premium, Hamilton Khaki Field, Omega 1965 Vintage, Seiko 5 SNKK27, Seiko 1977 Vintage, Nomos Orion 38, Wittnauer 1960's Vintage, Movado SL1 Chrono, Seiko SBQK085, Cyma Le Locle, Casio Oceanus OCW-S100-1AJF

I was thinking at my price range a decent Ball watch would be good? I kinda like the tubes.

    Thanks.
Just looked at it. However, the cheapest watch they have is above my price range.

I would recommend a Nomos watch, they're all great. Not sure £1500 will stretch far enough of one of their automatics, but their manual movements are lovely things to wind :)

What do you mean special? More than a day/date? Chronograph? Lot of watches in your range. Going to need to narrow it down a bit.

I guess something unique that makes the watch stand out, more than day/date/chronograph I would suppose. Something quirky or weird is fine with me.

Breitling Superocean Steelfish (owned one and loved it), Tudor Black Bay, older Rolex Datejust, Seiko Marinemaster 300, Breitling Aerospace.

Sorry, I don't get the love for Nomos. To be honest I find them extremely boring.
