Hi Folks,
I've been a silent reader for a few months now. This forum has been of invaluable help to me in making up my mind for my first watch, a Longines Hydroconquest 39mm automatic.
Why Longines?
The watch had a to be a diver, since I feel they're the most versatile type of watches. They dress-up or dress-down very easily. The choice was narrowed down to Tag Aquaracer, Breitling Colt, Omega Bond and Longines Hydroconquest. The watch also had to be great value for money and Longines handily won in this category. I really liked the Breitling with the anti-reflective crystal and diagonal-ish links, but it was way out of my budget!
My first impression of Hydroconquest is that it is simple and understated, but very solidly built. It's a watch I can wear every single day without worrying much.
What's next..well, the AD had a very lovely looking Omega Speedmaster Day-Date that I've set my sights on :)
A big thank you to watchuseek.com for developing my interest in fine watches.
