Follow Up...Wrong Choice! Wife Gives Green Light...Stowa 1938 or Alpina 130 Heritage ???

What would you buy and why?

We have a special anniversary coming up and my lovely wife knows my mistress is my collection. I've been given a hall pass to make a new purchase.

I have been lusting after the Stowa 1938 Chronograph for a long time BUT then Alpina had to go and introduce the 130 Heritage AL-860S4H6

Price difference is less than $100 thru a trusted Alpina dealer (actually less once customs fees on Stowa is factored in)

I realize there are some fundamental differences but those don't matter to me.
What I want to know is what stirs your emotions based on all factors. I love Stowa. I already own a few and I have never owned an Alpina.

While I really respect everything about Stowa, I prefer the looks of this Alpina. It is a very attractive vintage looking chronograph and I prefer the silver markers and blue hands to the gold on the Stowa.

If it wasn't for the arabic numerals on the Alpina, I would go with that. But in this case, I'd pick Stowa.

Stowa without a doubt. The Alpina has a way too busy dial.

Simplicity makes the Stowa a clear winner for me.

The Stowa's cleaner look and bigger subdials probably win it for me. Close call though, the Alpina is very nice and I love its raised crystal.
