    Question Forgot your watch...

So, I was in a hurry to leave this morning. I got my three year old in his carseat, threw all my needed stuff in the car, got in and drove away. I was a mile from the house when I realised I'd forgotten to put on a watch!

By the time I'd run through all possible solutions to keep this from happening in the future, I was 2 miles away, and 4 traffic lights from home. I dropped two quick lefts, and made it home to throw my favorite "manual labor" watch on... (no SARB017 on days when I'm working with my hands... I opt for my Timex T2n695) and get back on the road a happy papa.

Here's my question. How far away from home would you have to be to decide to NOT turn around?

If it was just for a day and there were no restrictions on having a mobile phone handy, I'd forego the watch for the day if I had already left the driveway. Never happens though -- it's on 24/7 for me except for showers etc.

I'd let it go if I was more than 10 minutes away and on a schedule. Watch-free days are probably a good idea from time to time anyway.

I have returned home more than once to get a forgotten wallet. NEVER have I forgotten my watch. I would feel naked without a watch!

My office is literally 10 mins drive from home. I've changed watch and jacket during lunch.

Hmmm...probably once I hit the first feeder street...as opposed to local subdivision's roads. At that point, turning around becomes more of a pain. As noted, one can punt; even dumb phones report time.

    Re: Forgot your watch...

I'd be more likely to forget the three-year old.

Seriously though, just in case, I have watches in my car glove compartments, motorcycle saddlebags, gym bag, and office. They're not my first choice watches though.
Guys, I really really really do understand that there was a hack and that my password was reset, but I'm about to take a year off from WUS if you can't stop telling me about it every time I log in. With my password. That you reset.
