Fortis Watches Shops in London, England

    Hello

My first post and a burning question.

Does onyone know of a Fortis dealership in London or the south east of England?

I notice on their web site pop-ups they are looking for a UK network. Does this mean they have no distribution base in the UK?

    Thanks

If Fortis mention a vacany there probably is one.

BTw: If you click on "Dealers" you`ll find at least two in London.

Unfortunately they are not on the 'approved list' of the insurance claim.

I hereby second Mike's question. This makes me curious. Anybody from the UK can explain the importance of this?

My first thoughts have been that a 2 years guarantee of Fortis, issued resp. signed by an AD, should be a sufficient protection

If you can't rely an official Fortis dealer......

Yes. In Britain, consumers generally get a hard time, sometimes some of it self-inflicted. They pay insurance, and when something is stolen, the insurer tries to cover its losses as cheaply as possible by strongly, and often aggressively, recommending that replacement purchases are made from internally "approved" suppliers which have deals with the insurance company to supply at a discount.

Of course, this is complete bollocks. There is no requirement for you to seek a replacement from a so-called approved seller, as (in this case) not everything will be covered. The insurance company should be made to cough up the amount required by the Fortis dealer, and if they refuse, they should be taken to the small claims court for a breach of contract. A sniff of litigation, and they usually comply.

Thank you very much. Completely new idea for me, how an insurer tries to cheat the customer. And this list is thus worth nothing for serious watch shopping. Might even require buying from non-ADs.
