    Picture The Future is Interchangeable

The first manifestation of The Halda Concept is The Halda Space Discovery which consists of three parts: one Time Platform and two Time Modules. Each Time Module is tailored for optimum performance in its respective environment. For the Mechanical Module that means on earth. For the Space Module it means in space. It really is that simple.

But of course, that’s not the whole story. First of all there are not one but many stories. They are the tales of inspiration brought to life by dedication, the result of master craftsmen coming together to create something previously unheard of.

The story started a long time ago with one man’s obsessive attention to detail and dedication to perfection. Born out of this was the Halda brand in 1887. We have resurrected this ideal, because we share a passionate fascination for the mechanical wonders of classical watchmaking and a dream of creating a watch that is just as beautiful as it is
useful, be it on earth or in space.

Interesting idea and both faces of the modules look great but essentially it is two different watches on the same strap. A better idea would be a reversible watch - analogue one side and digital the other.

    Re: The Future is Interchangeable

An attractive watch. However, the purpose behind exchangeable movements escapes me completely. The quartz timed module would clearly serve on earth as well as some other environment. Just have it drive an analog display as well and be done with it.

I didn't see the price on their website, but I'm guessing it's well north of any analog/digital watch produced to date.
Any guesses as to who made the NOS 36,000 bph movement as well as the quartz movement?

Didn't Seiko do this around 23 years ago?

Indeed. And the early Swatch Watch features included the abilty to swap movements, cases and straps.

Hardly unique or groundbreaking (Certina did something similar back in 80-90s if I recall correctly) as a design, but it does look like fun watch to own.

Though I think the price tag will be spacious as well.

    Re: The Future is Interchangeable

The interchangeability is a cool idea but when you think about it, just get an extra bracelet and then you have 2 watches... You could then wear both of them together (one on each arm) for backup, especially if you were in space!

    Re: The Future is Interchangeable

Most watches already have interchangeable straps/bracelets. Not sure how this is that much different.

    Kind Regards,
    Nick
