GADA to complement Rolex Sub in a 2-watch collection : Sportier or dressier?

A rule I have established for myself is every watch I own must be a GADA, otherwise I just tire/get bored and end up flipping. I have a pretty popular GADA in the Rolex Sub. I'd say that falls more into the sportier side of GADA, though I have no issues wearing with a suit (think it looks pretty good, imo).

If I were to look for a 2nd watch to complement the Sub but still be a GADA, should I go for something that's dressier than the Sub, or sportier? I live in the Bay Area and work in a casual environment, so I only wear a suit maybe 10 times a year for various things.

IMO a GADA that would go towards the dressier side but still maintain GADA status would be something like a JLC Master Control. On the sportier end, I'd say maybe a sportier diver like the Omega PO would still qualify. But many others on either end of the Submariner in that spectrum.

The JLC sector dial would be a great companion:

Like you i rarely wear suits and when I do I’ve no problems wearing a diver with one.

I would go for another Rolex in the form of the polar explorer 16570.

I think that a Chronograph would be a nice complement.

    What about:

    Dan.
    A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up/Down
    H. Moser & Cie Pioneer Centre Seconds
    Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds
    Officine Panerai Radiomir PAM 720
    Rolex Submariner 114060 (No Date)
    Cartier Santos WSSA0010
    Apple Watch Series 4 Nike+
    Seiko SKX007
    Seiko SKX009
    Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400-1
    Casio G-Shock GA-700
    Casio G-Shock DW-5600E
And others (not really worth mentioning)

Lots of good suggestions here. The only one I'd actually disagree with is the OP's own suggestion of a PO to go with his Sub. Why two dive watches, when there are so many other options which look good in non-dive-watch ways?

Adding a second to a sub, I’d go dressier. Not a bad choice of a PO.

My recommendation - if it's good enough for James Bond, it should work for you ;)

A blue DJ41 would go well with the Sub. A little dressier and some color, but still durable and water resistant.
