G'day everyone! My 1st post - please recommend me a watch

    Hello everyone!

I've been reading this forum for quite a while, but only had occasion to make a post tonight. I'm from Sydney Australia - g'day mate!

I'd like to ask for recommendations for a new watch. I current wear a Oris BC3, have had it for 4 or 5 years. It's never missed a beat and I love it, but I feel its time for an upgrade.

I'm looking for a watch which has:
    - Chronograph
    - Day & Date display
    - 2nd time zone (doesnt have to be a separate hand, I figure a rotating bezel can acheive this as well but I prefer internal bezel)
    - automatic self wind

I have done a bit of searching, and am considering the following:
    - IWC aquatimer chrono automatic (classic look, good brand, but very pricey)
    - ball EM II diver chrono (unique look, stunning lume, if only they came in silver)
    - Omega Seamaster Chrono (good brand, the 'safe' choice')

In terms of styling, I'm looking for something I can wear everyday, so relatively tough. I'd like something that looks ok at formal work functions, but most looks unique. And because of this, I've also ruled out a few which fit the bill, including the Sinn 756, Oris divers titan chrono, BR02, Glycine Airman Chrono 08...

I've been told to buy the one that grabs me the most. But still, your recommendation would be much appreciated, so would you please let me know!

    Thanks very much!

You ruled out the Sinn 756 but what about the 6000 series by Sinn ???

It's the day & date display feature which is going to really limit your options, I think.

    Hi everyone

Thanks so much for your replies

Regarding the Sinn 6000, Frankfurt, ya it's a fantastic watch, its a pity there are no sinn ADs in Sydney, but its definitely something to consider....come to think of it, I work in finance... but, thats probably why I am out of a job now. But thats life I guess, fail then prevail...

Thanks Noisy Nova for the accutron reco as well, but it doesnt seem to have a 2nd time zone or rotating bezel.... to be honest, the ability to show a 2nd time is more important for me than the day...

If its the day and date is goign to limit my options, what about with just the date only? Any recommendations?

    Thanks again everyone!

My requirements were very similar to yours. As others have commented, it's hard to combine a 2nd time zone with chronograph and day complications. In most modern auto chronographs, the introduction of a UTC hand eliminates the day - though you still have the date. The only way around this that I can think of is the use of a 12 hour bezel to give the 2nd time zone - see the Damasko 66/67, where there is a choice of 0-60 or 0-12 bezels - the latter would give you what you want.

My choice was to forgo the date, and have a 24 hour GMT hand, in the Fortis Pilot Professional GMT Chronograph, which I can highly recommend.

I reviewed my experience of this model on this forum a couple of months ago:
