    Huh... odd that the poster understands what the rubies are used for, and isn't asking for some ridiculous price (that I can tell) but throws that line in there.

    My understanding is that they are all synthetic, as they are cheaper to make. Don't know why they would do it any other way...using a real stone would likely be more difficult and more expensive...

    I read a couple links on the web, there are apparently some watches that have real rubies but 99.9 % are synthetic.

    Well that's what I found to be odd. I'd think anyone that bothers to learn that they're used as bearings, would also have learned what kind of rubies they actually are. I learned both of those things at the same time.
