The fleiger bug bit me few months ago and to test waters I picked up a sterile dial sea gull powered small seconds manual wind 44mm. Wow I loved the design and aesthetics until I discovered it was little too large on my wrists. Its ok as long as you don't feel like it but since I started feeling it I want one at 42 mm or 40 mm. The decision to downsize is also very heavily influenced by my recent purchase of Hamilton Khaki Field chrono 38mm. So smaller the way for me at least in non dive watches.
I find the Stowa to be attractive but I want the diamond crown. So other options seem to be Archimede & Tourby. And I find Tourby to be too pricey for what they offer. They are so close to Stowa's price but doesn't quite have the history like Stowa.
Another option seemed to get German made parts and a Swiss movement and put them together. I hit a roadblock as I was not able to find Tourby type sub seconds dial at 6'Clock position. When I added the price it was close to 600$. Now Archimede retails for about 773 $ inclusive of shipping. What you guys think is the best option?
Any recommendations to find a German made dial?
