    Lightbulb German VS Swiss

Hey WUS Fellas - Howz german VS swiss ones ?
I've heard of good german brands like Glashuette, Nomos, Junghans, etc.
Also, are german ones cheaper than swiss keeping in mind quality of both are equally good ?

In my opinion, you get more bang for your buck with German watches, as the Swiss can charge a premium for name brand recognition.

Germany makes some very fine watches. However, there aren't very strict laws as to what can be labeled "Made in Germany". Thus some "German" watches can house Japanese movements, such as this Miyota powered Laco:

They are two of the top three watch producing countries, no? Hard to go wrong.

By the way, I meant in quality and prestige, not in quantity.

I perceive several Glashutte houses to be up among the best Swiss manufacturers. Glashutte Original and Lange in particular.

Some might consider GO a company riding off Lange's coattails in design philosophy and bemoan them for it. I don't.

It varies from brand to brand (same applies among swiss watches). I would easily take most AL&S over Patek and certain GO over JLCs though.
Nomos produces some of the nicest watches at their price point too.

Gee, it's like being asked to choose between Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima.

Would be very happy to have either on my arm (wrist).

One must be careful....You can get a Chinese watch Made In Germany......And that's not right.....IMHO
