    Girls collecting Girl watches

I'm new to this whole watch game, but it does seem to be a male dominated hobby. In fact, it seems to be only blokes in here.

Are there any women who collect women's watches in the same way us sad men hoard men's timepieces?

Most watch firms only seem to have token women's collections, most of which are pretty derivative.

Why is this? Are all the birds just out buying shoes?

I would suggest you check around the forum a bit before making a blanket statement. We have a Moderator at Large on WUS who is a most lovely lady. Not to mention Sherry and Liz and many others.

There are a few girls, but I think it is pretty unarguable that the forum is somewhat male dominated...

One comment I remember a while back on this topic did make sense to me - If you are female, there is a vast array of jewellery and accessories out there for you to look into, so alongside a watch it is likely to see a female wearing necklaces, earrings, bracelets and so on.

If you are male, the options generally accepted for 'accessories' are somewhat limited in comparison, so there is much more of a focus put on watches...

Does this count? And yes, I'm a girl (last time I checked), and yes apart from a few mandatory women's pieces for formal occasions, most of my collection is mid-sized or larger.

Cuz I like it that way.

Your other statements were already covered except this one. Take a look at Omega, Piaget, Audemars Piguet.... there are quite a few brands that offer extensive ladies pieces, both mechanical and quartz. TAG and Rolex have many options for their woman's Aquaracer and DateJust line-ups also.

Wow, that is an amazing collection of watches! I can only dream of emulating that.

Sorry everyone if my original post seemed flippant, that wasn't my intention, and if I've offended anyone, then I am sorry.

I was simply curious thats all, and genuinely interested to find out if women feel marginalised by the manufacturers, and if anyone specifically collects ladies watches only.

Wow great collection and I'd say that is one helluva way to display your watches

    Don't be so "old school".

It's a new world now...we welcome the gentler sex.
There are only a select few ladies who truly appreciate a fine timepiece, but they are here, and that only makes them even more special.
