As far as I know, it's a "Germasian" brand (synthesis of Chinese and European parts, with a "Made in Germany" label due to lax definitions) that makes mostly Rolexalikes.

I recently purchased a Steinhart Ocean 1. It is a Swiss brand, modeled along the lines of Rolex. I think they are very well-made and very reasonably priced; in fact, I think they could easily command double the price they are selling for. I'm very pleased with my Ocean 1; it's a big watch: 42mm without crown but very well-finished. I believe they are all automatics. Check them out at: www.steinhartwatches.com

The search function ( see the black balk UserCP......Log out") of our fora will lead you to 55 threads/posts if you search for "Steinhart". Same with Robert watches which you´ll find at

    www.robert-uhren.de
    and here
    www.robert-watches.com
    and here
    www.robert-e.com
    and
    www.robert-relojes.com
    and
    www.steinhartwatches.com

Not to forget re-uhren, rewatches (ebay).

Just a trademark of Elbl & Steinhart GbR, a wholesaler and trade company (supposed to be import/export).
