Going to Boston, recommend any good watch stores?

I'm going to Boston for a week. Gonna check out the sites and visit my friend in Cambridge.

Are there any good watch stores around? I'll be there for Black Friday. This is my first Black Friday since we don't have this in Canada. Do watches go on sale on Black Friday?

    Thanks!

Not much left in Boston/Cambridge after the overnight demise of AlphaOmega a couple of years back, when the owner and his family fled the country. Their flagship Harvard Square store was great, and stocked almost every high-end brand. Sadly, it was all auctioned off to pay creditors.

Tourneau in Copley Plaza is about the only decent watch store now, but it is very small. There are one or two independents around that stock Rolex, Omega, Breitling, etc., but that's about it.

Not the best town to watch shop in, I'm sorry to say.

Really depends what type of watch you are looking for. Tourneau, Joseph Gann, European Watch Company (for higher end pre-owned), Lux Bond & Green, Barmakians, Longs, Ross Simmons - the list goes on.

That's a good list...I'd also add Paul Duggan for higher end pre owned.

Thanks for the info! I'll look these up when I'm down there.

I'm looking for good deals on mid-highend like Omega and Tags etc...

On Black Friday does anything go on discount though ?

Tourneau has Omegas and Tags and some higher end brands like JLC and Glashutte Original. Ross Simon is in the same mall complex as Tourneau and I think they carry only Rolex.

Barmakian has Omega. If you're looking pre owned, European Watch Company has a decent selection of Omegas and Rolexes and it's in a nice area of Boston if you want to walk around ( Newbury Street) .

Joseph Gann has Hamiltons and Ball watches.

Long's has Rolexes and Cartiers and Breitlings. No Omegas or Tags, though.

Don't know about the Black Friday thing. Good luck.

Yea not sure about if watches will be sold at further discounts on black Friday. But my guess would be not, wouldn't get my hopes up. But you never know. Good luck!

European Watch Company used to be my home away from home when I was in Boston. They have a great selection of preowned watches, some NIB, some REALLY high end stuff as well. They have a website, and they have more in the store. It's a great area for lunch and people watching.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to check out some Ball Watches :) There is only one store in my area that sells them. I hope the US will be cheaper.
