    Confused Good women's watch companies?

I'm looking to buy a watch for a special someone, but everything I am seeing on the women's side looks like mere overpriced fashion quartz (even the >$500 watches!). Are there any good women's watch-makers out there?

What I'm looking for specifically is a rose-gold, large-face watch (42mm or more), with roman numerals. Chronograph is preferred.

I appreciate any help! Even just a nod in the right direction of what makers I should be considering.

    Best!

EDIT: I'm also fine with men's watch suggestions in this price range, especially since there doesn't seem to be much variety in the 42mm+ size for women. Eg. Something like this one,

Omega makes some good stuff, which is basically smaller version of their men's models. You can get them with 8500s and 9300s too, or versions of them anyway.

Also JLC has a fairly impressive lady's collection.

My wife's favorite watch is the Breitling Super Ocean Steelfish she stole from me.
44mm and thick, but looks great on her very petite wrist.

All that to say, at 42mm+, you need to be looking at men's watches. The "boyfriend watch" is quite the style these days.

Definitely not IWC... "Engineered for men"

To actually address your question- Zenith makes fantastic women's models at very reasonable prices considering they use manufacture movements.

Oh yeah I forgot, the Zenith Babydoll is really popular among women and uses super high end movements at very reasonable prices.

How about a Limes Artemisia? Smaller than you might like but nice watches, with Selitta SW200 Top movements. Variety of case types and straps/bracelets available.

If price is not an issue, the Cartier Ballon Bleu in the men's size (W6920010) fits all your requirements.

If we're looking for a budget-friendly watch, Citizen has a couple of rose gold watches that might work except they're less than 42mm.

I have to add, I'm a girl and the watch you're describing (rose gold, chrono, >42mm) sounds like a lot of fashion "boyfriend" watches. If your significant other doesn't care about movement and she really wants a boyfriend watch, you might be better off just giving it to her. A lot of women I know would rather have something like that by Coach, Burberry, Michael Kors, Michele or Marc Jacobs than a Citizen. Since she'll be the one wearing it, I say give her what makes her happy. Just my 2 cents.
