22 sort of 'overpowers' a round dial. The lugs become too wide and as such there is to much emphasis put in the lugs whereas the dial has to be the star of the game. 18 or 20 is better. 18 for dress watch stuff. 20 for sports watches is best in my opinion.

It's totally irrational...it just looks too wide to me. But it seems to be specific to 22mm to me. I had an EC Andersson Arctic Calypso Sport -- the bracelet is like 25mm at the lugs. No issues there. Just something about 22 that I don't like.

I have a lot of dealbreakers, several of which have been mentioned, but I don't consider them irrational, just a matter of personal preference. Here is another-no second hand on a mechanical watch. I would have been all over that Oris Monk except for that.

I'm sure many agree with me who like symmetry and balance on dials: odd placing of date window without considering overall balance...

Me irrational?? I dunno, but those ever-so-funky abbreviated names are a real turn-off, y'know, like, Bugr, Shagr, Rokr, Scourg, Bwl Mvmt....totally sucky to me.

Also, whilst i'm here having a moan, Asian adoption of European names - usually French - if I did that in reverse, being a died in the wool W.H.E.M., I'd be hauled over for cultural misappropriation, but hey, ain't the modern world that we live in just great!!

    Cheerz,

    - The "family jewels" on the 12 o'clock marker on the Speedy
    - The name "Orient" as a brand
    - Generic "Firstname Lastname" brands (e.g. Dan Henry, it's like some I'm wearing some guy's watch that he hit with a label maker)
    - The fairy magic wand central seconds hand on the Zenith
    - Date on a mechanical, no-date on a quartz

I honestly can't stand display case backs. Doesn't serve a purpose when I'm wearing it! But I'm mainly interested in tool watches..
