I'm sure others have posted the same thing already, but I haven't been on the forum for a bit (Translation: I haven't run into any watch related issues or problems lately where I needed info or advice from my always helpful fellow members to bale me out yet again after I got myself into something way over my head.)
From the March 20th issue of the New York Times:
As tattooed rockers, tech bros and Instagram influencers pile into the tweedy world of watch collecting, prices for sought-after classics from brands like Rolex, Omega and Patek Philippe are shooting up. In some cases, they have doubled in just a couple of years.
(my words) It's also responsible for the current trend in the watch world; wearing watches that are so enormous, it looks as though the person has a wall clock strapped to their wrist.
