and i like it a lot, although sometimes, its very hard to read the time, - the hands seem dont seem very legible in certain light conditions.

I was thinking of changing it for a Seiko SARB033

Can anyone here tell me what the legibility of the seiko is like in different light conditions?

Re: Hamilton Jazzmaster vs Seiko SARB033

It looks like the hands on your Hamilton Jazzmaster are flat? If so, the SARB033 might give you better legibility in low light conditions, since the hands of the SARB033 have a fold along the middle, which makes it better at reflecting any ambient light. The problem of highly polished hands is that if they're high quality, then they reflect the light at a specific angle, as opposed to diffusing the light in all directions (due to a rougher surface). Indeed, it is for this reason that the best quality polishing is referred to as "black polishing" as they look black from certain angles.

Re: Hamilton Jazzmaster vs Seiko SARB033

I am a very happy SARB033 owner and I can report that not only is the lume surprisingly good, the visibility when light is simply low but not nonexistant is great. I have no experience with the Hammie but can say that my SARB033 totally shames my Hamilton Khaki.
    Cheers,
    Mike

From the surface without owning either, these look like a half dozen vs. 6. It would be much easier to justify a move if you could get a look at the SARB in person to know it was different enough to make a change. Have you considered going for this one instead?:
