    Which handwind movement?

    On the GSA site there's a Marathon basic general service watch for $50 with a 17j handwind movement, who makes this movement that can be sold so cheaply?...its Swiss made according to Marathon

    They have been made with ETA 2824s, or FHF 96-4Ns.

    (But, the GSA site is for US Government agencies, so there is no mark up. So, unless you have a government accounting number, you cannot order them. For non-governmental purchases you have to go elsewhere.)

    So are these NOS movements......or current production, the FHF...

    Fore those who don´t know about FHF. FHF= Fabriques d'Horlogerie de Fontainemelon. In 1913 the anual output of movements: 1 Million, produced by 1030 employees. Must have been good times
    1955 the "standard caliber" is launched - a cheap reliable movement in mass production.
