hello from iraq and happy veterans day!

as most of you probably remember, i started a thread last month called "which watch do you take to iraq with you" (i ended up bringing my omega seamaster, but you cant really see it because i turned it around on my wrist today because i was getting in and out of a lot of planes/vehicles and didnt wanna bang it on any of them).

i figured id start a new thread with some pictures from veterans day in iraq.

thanks to all that are serving and have served.

    happy veterans day!

(internet is really bad over here in iraq, let me know if the images dont load for you guys. they arent loading for me)

That is pretty tight. Be sure to get an awesome wrist shot one of these days... with an epic background!

Great post Alpine If you see any West Pointers ask them "how's the cow"? Or the definition of leather.

What's with the civvies? Are you doing contract work?

Thanks for sharing. There were a few groups of planes flying around my skies today, but by the time I realized I should take pics they decided not to come back.

Excellent pics, I love that first one of the flag

Understeer is when you hit the wall with your front end. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with your rear end. Horsepower is how hard you hit the wall. Torque is how far you move the wall.

Gentlemen (and ladies)... sad news about that F16:

    http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull

This happened just a few blocks from my office this morning (I am also on Balad Air Base).

Although, I will say this... Take that news story with a grain of salt. The media's story of what happened is much different than the soldiers story here of what actually happened to that F16 this morning.

There is one thing I can say for certain, though. The destroyed F16 is indeed sitting over at the airfield.
