Help choose between Longines and Raymond Weils

I've narrowed down to these two watches, liking the RW but which would be the better buy? If I go for the Longines I could probably put it on a leather strap?

The RW for me... They are two different looking watches, but the RW has a nice simple aesthetic that I like

Re: Help choose between Longines and Raymond Weils

Hello! The Longines brand has been world-class for over a century...I own several, have worked on them ( as a hobby), and respect their long history and mechanical honesty...it really is not possible to 'go wrong' with Longines...I also like the Raymond Weil brand...Mr Weil introduced very classy quartz watches at a time when the Swiss needed all the help in marketing that they could get...Raymond Weil certainly helped them, and the good-looking / reasonably-priced watch market...they're both good watches. I reckon the Longines will hold its' value a bit better than the Raymond Weil, but, competition being what it is in the watch world, I also predict that Raymond Weil will continue to make a name for itself...have fun making up your mind!

I voted the Longines for its more classic look. I do not like the golden accents on the RW face.

    Indeed a difficult choice.

I prefer the RW design, pusher style, lugs shape and functionality.

That said, I would pick Longines as it is my favourite of the two brands.
I have seen that Longines in the flesh with the White dial variation and looks really good too.

Longines. No brainer. More solid brand, overall better finishing and security of ETA movement service in case you need one in the future.

Choose the prettier watch, the RW.

I like the Longines brand heritage but that particular watch is too bland for my taste.

I like the Longines but that might be because it reminds me of my old Zenith.

Between these two, I'd take the Raymond Weil. That said, Longines has a whole host of dressy chronographs. I'd investigate further, particularly their column wheel offerings...
