    Help Choosing A Watch

Hi, I am new here. I am a beginning to gain an interest in collecting watches. I have some that were given as gifts, and I decided to buy a new watch. I wanted one with a chronograph and black leather. I found two that I am interested in. I know that Seiko is a better brand than Invicta, but for the price I like the Invicta. Overall, I am undecided. I just wanted someone who is experienced with watches to give their opinion.

    Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. The internet is full of stories about terrible QC and customer care with Invicta. You get what you pay for. Seiko should be your choice every single time.

Have a look at Christopher Ward too. Great watches at super prices for mechanical watches. I've never heard a bad word said about them.

I'll be honest, I don't know if you are getting twice the watch with the Seiko if it's money you are worried about. I personally like the Seiko much better. I find the Invicta is a little over the top in design and is trying to hard to be flashy. The Seiko is a more understated and classic look. If money isn't an issue, get the Seiko every time. If you just want a decent looking watch with and hope you don't have issues then the Invicta it is. For me, when you are talking under $400 watches you get what you pay for. Above that the difference in costs can be great but the quality/design/character seldom are.

<$250 Seiko, Sea-Gull, Orient are your best bets. If you can improve the budget then look at Kadloo, Uhr, Christopher Ward, Tissot, and Hamilton.

Thanks for the help. I decided to get the Seiko. I am ordering from timepiece.com, its cheaper and I looked at reseller ratings Timepiece.com Reviews - timepiece.com Ratings at ResellerRatings

Out of 200 reviews, 1 one star, they rest are 4 and 5 stars. In my opinion, thats a pretty good rate of success for the seller.

    Congrats jus--
I don't often look at quartz chronographs, but the one you've found it quite a looker. Wear it in good health, and post some pics when you get it!
